Nearly spring

My sister spent the day with me, bless her heart. We went to the flower market at 5:30 am to pick up fake birds and butterflies for a new display garden that will be up until May 10. We took them down to Bridgeport Village and met the installation crew there, got them started.

On the way back to the city we walked in Bishops Close garden and saw some slow-moving orange salamanders and a lot of blooming things, like this pretty buttercup winter hazel.

We had breakfast at Helser’s … amazing eggs benedict and German pancakes that are like a cross between a crepe and a popover, topped with sauted tropical fruit.
