Fall is a good time for warming spices like ginger. Staccato gelato is dangerously close to our house. Besides a dozen or so interesting flavors of homemade gelato, they make cute little doughnuts. But only on the weekend. The best might be the ginger doughnut with ginger or chocolate glaze. There is also applesauce cinnamon. And orange coconut. And ‘prince of darkness': chocolate with chocolate frosting and chocolate sprinkles. It’s nice to take one in a little bag and nibble it as you walk, and look at plants and sip chai.
