Buttermilk cake

This recipe from Gourmet magazine has gotten a lot of mileage in my kitchen lately. This rendition is for a double birthday party for some fellow berry-lovers. The ‘Bluecrop’ blueberries and peach preserves sink in as the cake rises, and the sugar sprinkled on top makes it sparkly.

Here is the cake ready to go into the oven.
