Prunus serrulata ‘Yoshino’

Flowering cherry
ROSACEAE, The Rose family

For my birthday I did whatever I liked, which turned into about 24 hours of Making Things. I stayed up till 4 am sewing a skirt from fabric I bought while shopping with Eireann in Dole.

In the morning I when out photographing all the marvelous things that are blooming, including these nearly iridescent cherry blossoms. I used my tripod to see if it is possible to take pictures that are not blurry. It is! I do wish I had more macro power though.

In the afternoon I went to my studio and painted. Then Michael and I cooked a spring feast with fava beans, escarole, green beans and rucola. And I baked a chocolate roll cake with strawberries and whipped cream. Then I was very tired.
