Vaccinium vitis-idaea

Lingonberry
ERICACEAE, The Heath family

The beautiful Isil arrived tonight (amazing! where do you start when it’s been so long?), and Michael and I took her to Apotheke for a drink (start with a drink, and a toast to old friends). It is a bar down town, in the Pearl district that has Northern European delights- pear brandy and fruit liquors among them. We were introduced to it, appropriately, on Martin’s birthday.

‘Red Pearl’ is the lingonberry variety that’s grown most often around here.
